A US bank account for your LLC, from wherever you live.
Your company can't take payments until it has a bank account, and which banks will open one depends on the country you live in. On every plan, we get the company ready to apply and introduce you to a provider that opens remotely for founders in your country. Your country's page tells you which ones won't, before you order.
01What we do
How do we get your account opened?
- Your EIN, obtained without an SSN and saved in your documents. No bank will open an account without it.
- Your documents, meaning the stamped formation certificate, the signed operating agreement and the EIN letter, ready in the format the bank asks for.
- An introduction to a provider that opens for founders where you live. For most founders that's Mercury, with Wise Business as a second account. If you live in a country Mercury doesn't serve, we point you to the providers that do.
- A straight answer on which providers won't open for you. Your country's page says it before you order, so you can plan around it.
The application is yours
No bank lets anyone else open an account for you, so the application itself is yours. It takes a few minutes and your passport, and it usually goes through because the company already has everything the bank wants to see.

Yes. Mercury, Wise Business and Payoneer all take applications online, with your passport and the company's documents. Branch banks usually want you there in person, so we don't send founders abroad to them.
No. Banks only let the owner apply, so the application is yours. What we do is get the company ready for it. Your EIN is in hand, your documents are ready in the format the bank wants, and you get an introduction to a provider that opens accounts for founders where you live.
For founders in most countries, Mercury opens remotely, and Wise Business makes a good second account. Mercury doesn't open accounts for founders living in about 48 countries, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Ukraine and Vietnam, and it goes by where you live, not your passport. Founders there look at Payoneer, check whether Wise Business will take them, and in Nigeria look at Grey and Raenest. Your country's page says which applies to you.
Not for Mercury, which accepts a principal address abroad, though not your registered agent's address. Relay asks for a US address and an ITIN or SSN, which is why it's rarely the first choice for a founder abroad.
For most people, a few business days after the EIN arrives. The EIN decides when you can start banking, which is why the expedited EIN exists.
