What it means in practice.
Most states ask for a short filing each year, or every two years, confirming the company's details, with a fee. Wyoming's is due on the first day of the month the company was formed in and costs $60. A Delaware LLC files no report but pays a $400 yearly tax by 1 June. Miss either and the company loses good standing, and eventually the state dissolves or cancels it.
