The detail

What it means in practice.

A series LLC holds separate ventures or properties in separate series under one company, each protected from the others' liabilities under the state's law. Delaware allows series, and Wyoming has since 2020. Banks, the IRS and other states treat series inconsistently, though, which is why most founders who want separation form separate companies.
