What it means in practice.
The IRS generates the CP 575 when it assigns an EIN and posts it once. It shows the company's name, address and EIN. Banks, payment processors and marketplaces accept it as proof of the EIN. If it's lost, the IRS issues a replacement confirmation, the 147C letter, on request. A copy goes in your documents.
