02The straight answer
Should a founder abroad form in Nevada?
Nevada still has a reputation as the private, low-tax state, but the figures tell a different story. Forming an LLC costs $425, keeping it costs $350 a year, and the list of managers or managing members filed every year is public. Nevada has no income tax. Neither does Wyoming, which costs a fraction as much to keep and doesn't publish the owners.
Nevada is right anyway when
- You'll have staff, an office, a warehouse or property in the state
- A bank, a marketplace or a licensing body has told you the company must be formed in this state

Questions about a Nevada LLC.
If yours is not here, email us at [email protected] before you order.
No. Nevada requires an initial list of managers or managing members when the LLC is formed and a new list every year, and both are public. Filing the list costs $150 a year, on top of the $200 state business licence.
Yes. Nevada, like every state, doesn't require an LLC's owners to be US citizens or residents. It does require a registered agent with a street address in Nevada. Its recurring filing is due by the last day of the month the LLC was formed in, each year starting the year after.
It costs $425 to file, and then $350 a year. Over five years that comes to $1,825 in state charges. A Wyoming LLC costs $342.40 over the same five years.
No. We file in Wyoming and Delaware only. For a founder outside the US, they're the two states worth being in, and we'd rather know two states well than fifty a little. If your business will have staff, an office, stock or property in Nevada, it'll need to register there whichever state formed it, and we'll tell you so before you order.
